Resilience and Reconstruction Around the World: Global to Local Climate Recovery

Tuesday, November 4 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Room: 153 BC

Description:This two-hour workshop will explore how communities—from wildfire-prone California to conflict-impacted regions abroad—are planning and implementing green, resilient reconstruction. As a convenor of global sustainability leaders this session will showcase rebuilding, policy, and innovation learning from leaders around the world.

We will highlight efforts to advance equitable and sustainable recovery following wildfires, climate conflict and more. Attendees will learn how tools like the USGBC CA digital twin model, LEED v5, and the rebuilding marketplace are reducing costs, raising awareness, and supporting implementation across communities. The roundtable will also explore how building codes, education, and community engagement can work in tandem to secure buy-in from homeowners, contractors, and local officials.

Bringing together officials and experts from across regions and disciplines to share lessons learned, discuss common challenges, and offer replicable strategies, the time together will foster a cross-sector, international exchange on climate resilience, recovery, and long-term transformation.
