Rescue Run 5K and Wiggle Waggle Walk/Run

Wiggle Waggle Walk is 1 Mile - Dogs and humans welcome (9 AM)

Pet contestants:

Dogs are welome in the Wiggle Waggle Walk for no additional fee!

Awards:

First male and female finishers, top 3 finishers (male and female) 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19. Top finishers (male and female) 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+

Post-race party:

Food and beverages will be provided after the race. All registered runners and walkers will also receive discounted admission (just $5) to Bellingrath Gardens after the race/walk! Friends and family will also receive discounted admission prices - $10 adults/$5 children. For a $5 donation to ARF, dogs will be allowed to accompany humans into the gardens after the race.

No dog to walk? No problem! For a $10 donation you can Rent-a-Rescue for the walk.

Race Packet Pick-up

Race morning starting at 7 AM at the race headquarters at Bellingrath Gardens. The Rescue run will start promptly at 8 AM and the Wiggle Waggle Walk will start at 9 AM.

Registration includes the 2019 Wiggle Waggle race shirt! Register by April 13 to guarantee shirt size.

Wiggle Waggle Dog Day at Bellingrath Rules and Guidelines

1. Due to safety concerns, children under 12 with a dog must have adult supervision in Bellingrath
2. No aggressive dogs. Owners should be aware of and are responsible for their dog’s behavior and must leave if requested.
3. All dogs must wear a leash (no longer than 6 feet) and collar.
4. All dogs must be properly licensed, healthy and have current vaccinations.
5. No dogs in heat allowed.
6. Owners must clean up after their dog.
7. Dogs to be kept on pathways and open lawns in Bellingrath Gardens.
8. No dog should be left unattended.
9. No pets allowed in any of the buildings (restrooms, Entrance Building, Gift Shop/Café,Bellingrath Home, etc.) at Bellingrath Gardens.
10. Participants are responsible for water for their dogs.
11. There is a $5 donation to ARF for each dog that enters Bellingrath Gardens. Bellingrath Gardens will donate the collection of this fee to the Animal Rescue Foundation.
12. These rules apply to participants of the Wiggle Waggle race and to any visitorswho are on Bellingrath Gardens property.
13. The Pet Motel is available free of charge upon a first-come, first-served basis for visitors who wish to enter into the Gardens without their pet.
14. The Wiggle Waggle Dog Day at Bellingrath Gardens is a one-day event.

Typically only service animals are admitted into Bellingrath Gardens.

FAQ

What is your "stay in the kennel" option?

Many of our supporters expressed interest in still participating in the fun even though they were unable to complete the walk or run for a variety of reasons. With the "stay in the kennel" option, you'll recieve all the perks of the runner/walker registration without actually completing either! You'll get the race day shirt, swag bag from our wonderful sponsors with wonderful samples, coupons, etc., food and beverages after the races and admission to Bellingrath Gardens!

Do I have to bring/rent a dog to participate in the Wiggle Waggle Walk?

No, dogs are invited and encouraged but you can certainly walk without a pet!

Is there a fee for my pet to participate in the Wiggle Waggle Walk?

No, dogs are free to participate with registered humans in the Wiggle Waggle Walk! But, a $5 donation is required if you would like to take your dog on a tour of the gardens after the walk.

Will there be dogs available for adoption?

Yes, all the dogs in the rent-a-rescue program are ARF dogs looking for furever homes! We would love for our participants to also find a new best friend.

Are dogs allowed on the 5K run?

No, the 5K run is strictly for humans only. But, runners are welcome to also participate in the walk too! Many runners have friends/family register to participate in the walk with them after the 5K and either have friends/family bring their dogs, rent-a-rescue or just enjoy walk!

My friends and family are coming to cheer me on at the race and would like to tour the gardens with me afterwards. Where do I purchase their tickets?

Friends and family discounted admission tickets can be purchased at the race registration tent or at the gate into the gardens. Friends and family enjoy a reduced admission to Bellingrath Gardens of $10/adult, $5/kid when accompanied by a registered runner/walker. Registered runner/walkers receive an extra discounted admission price of just $5!
