Rescheduled TECHS AND THE CITY HSV - The Business Build Showdown

With the impending weather event (literally during time of our event!), out of an abundance of caution, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule Techs and the City - HSV.

Our team met today at 3pm to make this hard call. We have also been working to re-secure a date, time, and venue.

We’re not quite ready to announce all the updated details, but we are tentatively willing to say June 3rd!

We know that some may no longer be able to join us. But our team feels that this is necessary hard call to ensure everyone’s safety. And we at TATC are not willing to compromise that.

So, please bare with us! You’ll be hearing back from us very soon!

From Concept to Business in 60 Minutes

Co-hosts: DEPLOY + Alloy Digital + MeaningfulAI

Techs and the City is heading to Huntsville with a one-of-a-kind live innovation competition. Three teams — representing students, entrepreneurs, and corporate professionals — will go head-to-head to develop and present a business or product idea using AI tools… all in just 60 minutes.

Program Schedule

5:30 – 6:30 PM | Networking & Check-In

Grab a drink, meet fellow technologists, and get settled. Free beer/wine, sliders, apps, and snacks provided.

6:30 – 6:40 PM | Opening Remarks

Welcome from the organizers and a quick orientation to the evening’s challenge format.

6:40 – 7:40 PM | Live Build Challenge

Each team builds a business or product idea from concept to prototype in one hour using modern AI tools. Work will be live streamed for the audience to follow along.

Teams will develop:

• A clear concept and user journey
• A working or visual prototype
• Market validation
• A basic financial model

The moderator will provide live commentary throughout, helping the audience understand what’s happening and tying observations to discussion topics for the panel.

6:50 – 7:20 PM | Panel Discussion (Concurrent with Live Build)

A panel of industry experts will discuss the intersection of AI, innovation, and rapid product development — offering insights and engaging with audience Q&A. Topics will relate to what’s happening during the build.

7:40 – 7:55 PM | Team Presentations

Each team presents their final concept, demo/prototype, and findings to the audience.

7:55 – 8:00 PM | Audience Vote & Closing

The audience votes for the winning team. Final thoughts, recognition, and a look at what’s next.
