In Louisiana a minor seeking an abortion must get the consent of one parent, or in the absence of parental consent, judicial authorization which is referred to as a “judicial bypass”. The Louisiana Judicial Bypass Project provides free legal representation to any minor seeking a judicial bypass.

Who is the training for?

Attorneys. Attorneys who are interested in representing minors seeking a judicial bypass. Because it is critical that minors receive experienced, judgment-free and fair legal representation when applying for a judicial bypass, all network attorneys are required to complete this training (free and approved for CLE, see details below).

What does the course include?

The Louisiana Supreme Court has accredited the course for 1.00 hour of CLE. The course includes the topics below and supporting materials.
