Overview
Repeal Day Tour 2025
Come join us for a wonderful afternoon at Union Pub, around Capitol Hill and at Barrel! Our Repeal Day Tour 2025 is a must-attend event for all history buffs and cocktail enthusiasts. Step back in time and learn about the end of Prohibition while enjoying delicious drinks and great company. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to celebrate a pivotal moment in American history.
Wear comfy shoes and bring a friend. We will meet at Union Pub, 201 Massachusetts Ave, for an inaugural cocktail and introductions. Then our resident historian, Robert Pohl, will take us on a walk around Prohibition sites and we will delve into the confusing, entertaining and wacky history of how America shunned alcohol and on December 5, 1933, got its groove back. Want to get togged to the bricks like a 1930s glamour puss? You may win a prize for dressing up!
We will end our tour at Barrel, 613 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, with a heartwarming and appropriate post-Prohibition cocktail. Your ticket includes a drink both at Union Pub and at Barrel, but you can always linger around for more!
