With over 30 years of recruiting experience, Jane was a nationally-ranked, award-winning recruiter within MRI before founding Northstar Recruiting in 2000. Since 2001, her focus has been Physical and Logical Access Control, starting initially with Biometrics and Identity Management in 2001, then expanding to full Physical Access and Logical Access within a few years, and now expanding into Mobility as technology advances. She has been called the industry’s “Den Mother,” and it’s her ability to listen and match candidates to job requirements while taking into consideration the many factors that go into making a candidate selection or a job change decision that are her strongest talents.
When recruiting slowed during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, she had time to cull through decades of recruiting stories. After wading through thousands of notes, she published Surviving the Job Search, a field guide that helps job seekers navigate the job search process. On each page, she included a story from the trenches. Readers loved them so much that she compiled everything from her book, plus much more, into a new book aptly named Stories from the Trenches. Her soon-to-be-published book Staffing Your Small Business will provide small business owners with insight into how to find, attract, hire, and retain top talent.
