This January, Bethlehem resident Renee Blacken will be solo rowing 3200 miles across the Atlantic ocean as Team fOARtysomething. She is rowing to raise awareness of and funding for trauma recovery programs that integrate mind and body healing in northern New Hampshire. Why row an ocean? What is the boat like? How long will it take? What about storms at sea? Is there a chase boat? What kind of safety and communication equipment is there? How can you get involved and support this expedition and cause? Renee will be giving a presentation on this upcoming adventure at the Co-op cafe on Thursday, July 31 at 5pm. Come find out what it takes to prepare to row an ocean, and learn more about the local nonprofit she's supporting, Outdoor Adventuring for Good, a nonprofit co-founded by Blacken that supports trauma recovery programs in northern New Hampshire.
