About this event

Arts • Theatre

Join us for a powerful and moving Remembrance Day event featuring Dr Suzanne Marie Taylor and her one-woman archaeodrama, Still Life "Movy". The evening will begin with a 15-minute talk from Dr Taylor, offering insights into the research and inspiration behind the performance. After the performance there will be an opportunity for questions.

This unique show blends storytelling, poetry, and song to uncover the hidden stories of a WWI Motor Launch- “Movy” [ML]286 and the RNVR officers who served aboard it—including war artist Lt Geoffrey Stephen Allfree, commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

Based on Dr Taylor’s research at the University of Portsmouth, archaeodrama is a creative and empathetic way of exploring archaeology and history through imagination and emotion.

A representative from Veterans Outreach Support will be present to collect donations, should you wish to contribute.
