Remake the Holidays: Remaking Pop-up Marketplace
Overview
This year, instead of buying more, let’s remake what we already have—and build something joyful in community.
Join the Solidarity Economy - Buy, Make, Sell, Share.
Buy: Shop the Ready-Made Market filled with handmade gifts you can take home right away.
Make: Create your own gifts at DIY tables, redesign or upcycle your clothes with a seamstress, add patches, or embellish something you love.
Sell: Host a making table where people can pay-as-they-make to co-create gifts, art, or upcycled clothing with you.
Share: Be in community—share a skill, share a meal, exchange knowledge, support one another, and contribute to a joyful, creative space!
On Friday, November 28, The Festival Center transforms into a vibrant, creative gathering where you can make gifts, learn new skills, upcycle clothing, share delicious food, and connect with others in a spirit of solidarity and imagination.
What You Can Do at Remake the Holidays:
🧵Upcycle and redesign your clothes (with an on-site seamstress!)
🎨 Make wearable art, cards, ornaments, and handmade gifts
♻️ Swap clothing + small items you no longer need
🛠️ Patch, mend, or embellish with DIY tables with the Pay-as-you-do system.
🎶 Music, food, warm community energy
👜 Shop unique handmade items—all from local makers
💛 Participate in a solidarity-based, pay-as-you-do creative market
This is for everyone—families, neighbors, creatives, elders, young people, and anyone who wants a joyful alternative to consumer culture.
There’s no entrance fee. Every activity runs on a solidarity “Pay-As-You-Make” system that supports the makers, volunteers, and community work behind the scenes.
Why Remake?
- Because creativity is resistance.
- Because community is powerful.
- Because we can remake the holidays into something rooted in joy, connection, and mutual care.
