Reliability-Centered Lubrication and Lubricant Analysis

Maximize Equipment Efficiency with Expert Lubrication Skills

Lubrication is comparable to the life blood of your assets. Over or under greasing, improper lubricant, and lubricant failure can all result in costly equipment failures. In addition, having an excessive number of lubricants on site and an insufficient lubricant identification strategy can lead to cross-contamination and improper lubricant installation. To truly achieve the highest return on your maintenance investment, incorporate Reliability Centered Lubrication (RCL) with your reliability maintenance initiatives.

This course teaches lubrication best practices to enable organizations to develop, implement, and maintain a high-quality Lubrication Program that includes lubricant analysis and contamination control. Attendees may use this course as preparation for the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML) Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT) Level I and Machine Lubricant Analyst (MLA) Level I certification exams.

During the in-class time, you will learn:

  • Describe different maintenance strategies
  • Learn the fundamentals of lubricants
  • Understand the role of additives
  • Identify proper oil and grease application methods
  • Select lubricants based on application
  • Ensure lubricants, dispensing equipment, and hardware are in good condition
  • Understand lubrication best practices
  • Describe a Lubricant Contamination Control Program
  • Identify proper hardware for a Lubrication Program
  • Recognize the value of a Lubricant Analysis Program
  • Collect representative lubricant samples

Who Will Join You?

Personnel who manage or support Lubrication Programs, including lubricant and grease selection, lubricant delivery/storage/dispensing, re-lube and inspection routes, contamination control, and oil analysis programs.
