About this event

In partnership with the Academy of Communication in Healthcare (ACH), ZSFG offers the Relationship Centered Communication for Equity (RCC-E) workshop to provide healthcare workers with a standard toolkit to support effective communication and reduction of negative biases and stereotype threat across interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Participants will employ role-play to apply RCC skills as both proactive and restorative strategies in combating inequities. Participants’ own cases will be simulated to enhance relevance and direct application of the workshop content. All ZSFG staff and faculty are welcome to participate.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Explore the impact of our identities and biases on interactions with team members and patients.

2. Practice applying RCC skills to prevent the negative effects of stereotype threat and bias in our interactions with team members and patients.

3. Practice applying RCC skills to build or restore relationships when stereotype threat and bias have negatively impacted team members and patients.

4. Develop an action plan that supports application of skills in clinical and/or team contexts.
