Reimagining Community: Practice & Application Lab

Learning Community Description:

This in person lab focuses on practical skill-building, reflective dialogue, and collaborative problem-solving.

Focus Areas:

• Making meaning of the four core elements of thriving community life: safety, youth

voice, belonging through intentional space design, and sustaining the people who hold the

work

• Applying the core elements into real provider contexts

• Peer exchange and shared learning across provider sites and roles

What Participants Leave With:

• Concrete strategies for building relational trust with youth and families

• Tools for designing environments where belonging can emerge

• Language and approaches for supporting youth agency and shared leadership

• A personal sustainability plan and organization-specific takeaways

Important Information:

• Location Address: 1900 S. 1st St., Alma Mater Room, Champaign, IL 61820.
• Valid ID: Please bring a valid form of ID with you to the training and check-in at the ICOY check-in desk when you arrive. Follow any posted signs and you may ask the front desk for directions if needed.
• Arrival: Please arrive by 11:45am to ensure a smooth check-in process.
• Parking & Transportation: iHotel & Illinois Conference Center has its own parking lot.
