About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Did you know? De-escalation is the number one most frequently requested training by school staff! While everyone wants to know what to do in a dangerous or serious situation, preventing a serious situation in the first place takes skill, attention, and awareness. This virtual workshop from ChildSavers Mental Health Services team highlights the value of self-regulation for any adult who works with children. Simple, effective strategies for cultivating self-awareness lead directly to improved capacity as an external co-regulator. This means anyone can grow in their ability to build relationships with children – even children who experience and express deep pain and anger. Participants will develop a toolkit for assessment and intervention with upset youth using case examples and will return ready to apply this training to their personal contexts.
