Calling Epic Students,

Join us as Epic Charter Schools heads to the Regional Food Bank in Oklahoma City for a day of giving back to our community. Volunteers like you are essential to The Regional Food Bank's vision of an Oklahoma where no one goes hungry. Through this on-site volunteer experience, volunteers like you sort, pack, and prepare food for a variety of Regional Food Bank Programs. If you are a student looking for service hours/credit, this opportunity will help fulfill your hours.

We will be sorting and packing food to benefit a variety of Food Bank programs, such as Food for Kids, Food for Seniors, and/or Food for Communities. To find out more information about this location, please click the link at the bottom of this page.

Students: Epic student email accounts cannot receive emails from Eventbrite. Therefore, you will need to provide an alternative email address where you can receive the registration confirmation and all updates that are sent about this event.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Upon arrival, please check in with an Epic Family Engagement staff member who will be in Epic gear and located inside the entrance. We’d also love to see you in your Epic gear!

ITINERARY:

• 1:15pm Volunteer Check In
• 1:30-4:00 pm Volunteer
• 4:00 pm Conclusion

This Community Service Opportunity is for Epic Charter School Students grades 3rd and up, as well as their parents or guardians & Epic Staff.

CLOTHING & SUPPLIES RECOMMENDED:

• All volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes for safety precautions. Individuals wearing flip-flops, sandals, or any shoes where toes are exposed will be unable to volunteer.

POLICIES:

Service Animals: This location does not allow service animals.

You will register using Eventbrite which will hold your spot for the community service as a reservation. Parents, please register yourself and each of your Epic students who will be participating. This enables the school and the location to staff and plan appropriately. Our community service opportunities do have a maximum capacity. Therefore, we ask that when registering your students, you only register Epic enrolled 3rd through 12th-grade students so that the spots are filled by our students.

MEDIA POLICY: This is a public event and photographs and or video may be taken during the activity. If you prefer your student to not have a photograph or video taken please let our Epic Family Engagement staff know during check-in.

CANCELLATIONS: How do I cancel my reservation? To cancel the reservation and allow other students to attend in those spots you will go to the email sent from Eventbrite with the subject line: Your Tickets for the Regional Food Bank Community Service. Then scroll to the bottom of the email and click the words "View and Manage your online order." This will open up spots for other families and is very important as the location needs accurate numbers before we arrive.

Inclement Weather Plan: If we have inclement weather, we will send out communication by email through Eventbrite to let you know if the event has been canceled.

Sensory Bags: Sensory bags will be available to check out for use at this event. Upon arrival, see any Epic Family Engagement team member to check a bag out and return all sensory bags to an Epic Family Engagement team member before leaving the event.

Sign Language Services: To request a sign language interpreter for an Epic student at this event please email brianna.davison@epiccharterschools.org. Requests have to be made 72 hours in advance of the event.
