Sunday, November 9. Learn how to fix stained or boring clothes by adding fun, creative ReDyes or Patches! Bring in your own garment (no additional cost) or select from our wide assortment of secondhand clothes that are ready to be loved again (just $10ea).

We'll provide everything you need to ReDye your clothes into fun new colors or add colorful patches to create a whole new look!

Why learn how to ReDye or Patch your clothes?

We all have that favorite clothing item that got stained or discolored and now it just sits in the back of the closet, longing to be loved again. Start loving your clothes again by giving new life to old styles with ReDye or Patching techniques! Learn how to blend in the stain with new colors and patterns so that you can start wearing all those favorite styles again! Or cover the stain or that unwanted logo with a gorgeous patch that changes the look.

Keeping items in use and out of landfill is a key principle of the Circular Economy and being sustainable. ReDye and Patching are great ways to give a whole new look to old, boring or basic clothes and bring them back to life.

What to expect:

• Arrive anytime between 9:30a and 4:30p. Your workshop will last about 30 minutes per garment.
• Bring in your own garment to redye or patch at no additional cost.
• Choose one of our secondhand garments (just $10ea) that are perfect to redye or add decorative patches - we have XS-2XL mens and women's clothes to choose from.
• See examples and receive complete instructions for how to ReDye your item onsite. Or select patches, cut to size, pin in place and we'll sew it on for you!
• Reveal your ReDye or patched garment and leave with instructions for how to wash and care for it at home.

Type of dye we use:

We use Rit Dye Proline for most of our garment ReDyes. This is because, we've found it offers the best and brightest colors for a wide variety of fiber blends and it meets our minimum standards for sustainability, including non-toxic and sewer/septic/home-use safe. It is also widely available for consumer purchase so is a great dye to learn how to use on your own! Learn more about Rit Dye here.

Type of patches we use:

We have a wide array of vintage fabric remnants in beautiful prints that you can select, cut to size, pin in place and then we will sew it on for you to create your newly patched garment!

What's included in the Workshop Experience:

• You may also bring your own garment at no additional cost.
• You can choose from a wide variety of secondhand clothes for men and women sizes XS-2XL for just $10 ea.
• Instructions and recommendations for how to ReDye your selected garment and give it new life! A variety of dye treatments with instructions will be available to choose from. ReDye the garment onsite!
• Fun reveal activity showing off your fresh new ReDyed look!
• Take home bag with rinse and wash instructions so you can wear your newly ReDyed garment with pride!

Additional Fees and Considerations:

• You may bring in your own item to ReDye for the same price.
• You may purchase secondhand clothing from our inventory for $10ea onsite
• Entrance fee to Melrose Trading Post is NOT INCLUDED IN THIS TICKET.
