Reduction Lino Printing short course at Provan Hall
By Provan Hall Community Management Trust
Overview
Learn the basics of reduction lino printing with artist Amelia Morgan at one of Glasgow's oldest houses
Create a set of colourful lino prints based off the scenery around Provan Hall, a late medieval mansion house in the North East of Glasgow, inspired by our new exhibition 'A View from Provan Hall'.
This workshop is spread over 3 sessions on the evenings of the 12th, 19th and 26th March, from 6-8PM, where artist Amelia Morgan will guide you through the process of creating multicoloured prints from a single block of lino.
- Create your design from images of Provan Hall and surrounding grounds
- Choose a colour path from 3 options (yellow-orange-red, yellow-light green, dark green or light blue-dark blue-purple)
- Transfer your design to your block and learn how to cut interesting and descriptive marks
- Use the reduction printing process to layer colours on top of one another
- Take home a series of prints at the end of the course!
It is advised that particpents have some prior experience of lino printing before attending this workshop
