Event description

Description

On average, Americans throw away 80 pounds of textiles annually. In Austin, our landfills receive 18,000 pounds of textiles PER DAY. (yes, you read that right) That's 6.6 million pounds PER YEAR going into our local landfills.

Something's got to give.

Through the topic of reduce, reuse and remake, we'll explore the many ways that second hand clothing can impact our individual choices, our community, and the planet we share. With thoughtful demonstrations and interaction, attendees will be empowered to examine, create, experiment, collaborate, share and make, all while discussing the many aspects of reduce, reuse and remake.

This 60 minute presentation will shift your lens and leave you with practical, fun and simple ways you can make a change that will really make a difference.

THERE IS NO NEED TO PRINT YOUR TICKET. WE WILL HAVE INFO AT THE DOOR.
