Recognizing and Responding to Risk Posed by Perpetrators of Intimate Partner Violence
This training is for current Abuser Intervention Program (AIP) staff only.
This training is designed to discuss common myths about abusers and what may cause Abuser Intervention Program challenges when detecting and holding offenders accountable. The presentation will include suggestions to AIP professionals on how to identify potential risk factors that may lead to Intimate Partner Violence homicide cases as well as recommendations for interview techniques one may use when assessing, documenting, and managing risk while working with potential offenders.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

Recognize traits of abusers

Identify risk factors for intimate partner homicide

Discuss offenders' relationship history and motivation to act

Learn about abuser intervention strategies for assessing and managing risk
