Description

On the Recode Decode podcast, Kara Swisher grills the most important people at the forefront of tech. Artificial intelligence is today’s big question mark — from how it will power efficiencies in automation and self-driving cars to its effect on the labor market and ongoing security implications. That’s why Kara is headed to Washington, DC, on April 2, for an evening of back-to-back live interviews with AI experts.

First she’ll interview Ken Washington, vice president for advanced research and chief technology officer of Ford Motor Company. Washington oversees Ford’s investments into research on autonomous driving, including the array of technical, political, and philosophical challenges the automobile giant must address as the technology heads into the mainstream.

Next, Kara will talk with superstar AI researcher team Meredith Whittaker and Kate Crawford. Both New York University professors, Whittaker and Crawford co-founded NYU’s AI Now Institute, where they conduct pioneering research into AI technology. They’ll discuss why business leaders, politicians, and policymakers need to pay attention.

Join us for a live conversation between Kara and these AI pioneers at Studio Theatre in Washington, DC. There will be drinks, networking with other Recode fans, and the chance to meet Kara herself.
