Rebels Behind Bars: Declaration of Independence Signers at the Castillo

Come join us at the Peña-Peck House - Woman's Exchange for a fascinating free talk, coffee & pastries:

Did you know that 3 of the 56 Signers of the Declaration of Independence were once imprisoned right here in St. Augustine? Join us for “Rebels Behind Bars”, a fascinating exploration of how these founding patriots (Hayward, Middleton and Rutledge) came to be held at the Fort, far from the battlefields of the Revolution. This captivating program reveals the unexpected twists of war, loyalty, and captivity in colonial Florida — and how St. Augustine played a little-known role in the fight for American independence.

Advance registration is encouraged as space is limited.
