Join Center for Native Plants & Kareen Erbe of Broken Ground where we’ll take you through the steps to establish your drought tolerant native-scape, all while removing your lawn! Learn the tips and tricks from tried-and-true methods, species to consider, layout, maintenance and everything in between.


Replacing your lawn with native plants comes with a myriad of benefits!

All attendees will be automatically entered into a raffle to win one lawn conversion plant kit. The winner will be drawn at the event. Must be present to win. If you don’t win the raffle don't worry! We will have our kits available for purchase at the event, so you can get started on your re-wilding immediately!

Frequently asked questions

Is the event wheelchair accessible?

There are no steps between the parking area and the seating area. Be aware that the parking lot and the nursery grounds are unpaved. Also the bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible.

Will there be refreshments?

Drinking water is available, but be sure to bring your water bottle

Is there a restroom at the nursery

There is a port-o-potty on the nursery grounds. Additionally, restrooms with running water are a short walk away.

Will I be able to purchase plants at the event?

Yes. We will have our lawn conversion kits available for purchase at the event. Additionally, you are welcome to browse the nursey for our full plant selections.

Can I bring my dog?

Even though we welcome your pup during our normal business hours, we kindly ask that you do not bring your dog to the event.

Is the event inside?

Kareen will be presenting in our hoop-house, so all of the seating will be in the outdoors but in the shade.
