Re-landing: Writing Eco-connections within Speculative Frames
Overview
We are thrilled to invite you to join us for an online celebratory gathering marking the launch of the e-zine Re-landing: Writing Eco-connections within Speculative Frames!
Developed as part of the Conservation Futures Dialogues through the careful editorial lead of Sanabel Abdel Rahman in dialogue with Francesca Masoero and emerging from a month-long workshop holding the same name, this publication gathers the voices of Alexandra Pereira, Asiem Sanyal, cee-cee manrique, Constanza Monterrubio Solís, Falasteen Awadallah, Katherina Alvarez, Rahma Hassan, Rosakebia Estela, Sarah Risheq, Vicky Brown Varela, Youssef Rochdane, Zaineb Lassoued.
From poetry to folktales, from Sci-Fi stories to visual essays, these writers, artists, activists, scholars and cultural workers explore through powerful and deeply moving accounts the many ways in which we can restore histories of connection and return to the land, as well as resist and heal against colonial fractures and violence. As Sanabel puts it in her editorial, “This collective work attests to the power of the imagination, the need for its liberation, and the possibilities of other futures that bend to our will and love for land.”
Join us then for a celebration in the form of a reading circle of some of the beautiful texts gathered in this e-zine, soon to be found available in the CFD repository on the GDF website!
