RAR FR Gravel Camp

Friday, August 15 - Sunday, August 17

What is Gravel Camp?

The Radical Adventure Riders Front Range Gravel Camp is a weekend centered around community, education, and gravel- and adventure-cycling skill-building for femme/trans/women/nonbinary riders.

Gravel Camp will take place August 15-17th at High Trails Outdoor Education Center in Florissant, CO. We will host 40 participants who identify as femme, trans, woman, and/or non-binary with priority registration for riders who are black, indigenous, or other people of color. It’s our goal to make this a low-cost event for all riders and provide resources to remove any financial barriers.

Lodging and Logistics

We'll be on 6000+ acres of beautiful mountain landscapes staying in summer-camp cabins with showers and gathering space. Throughout the event, meals will be provided in the community cafeteria.

Why Should You Join?

Gravel Camp isn’t just about bikes. It’s about making a space for nourishment, growth, and joy. Gravel Camp prioritizes the needs of queer and BIPOC folks, seeking to help our marginalized community members to not only persist but thrive. It is a space to reclaim our bodies and build roots in both nature and community.

What Will We Do?

The weekend is a choose-your-own adventure program full of clinics, workshops, activities, and on- and off-bike skill-building!

Frequently asked questions

Who can come to the Gravel Camp?

All femme, trans, women and nonbinary cyclists over the age of 18. If you do not identify as femme/trans/women/nonbinary but would like to support our efforts, please donate.

Are trans men and non-binary masculine people welcome?

Yes! If you feel comfortable then we'd love to have you.

How can I support RAR in other ways?

Donate! We even have a ticket type specifically for donations. Or reach out to RAR FR (rarfrontrange@gmail.com) if you are interested in other ways to contribute to or sponsor events.

Who can register for what ticket type?

We have reserved tickets for BIPOC riders and trans/nonbinary riders. If you identify as both BIPOC and trans/nonbinary, pick either ticket. If you identify as BIPOC and/or trans/nonbinary but reserved spots are full, choose Open registration. For all other FTWNB riders, choose Open registration.

How much does it cost?

In order to cover the costs of putting on this event, we are charging a ticket price of $75 per person. If you are unable to pay some or all of that cost, please reach out to us for discounted or free entry. We do not want finances to be a barrier to anyone who would like to participate!

Other Concerns?

We can accommodate most dietary restrictions and will collect that information in a survey shortly after you complete your order. While we don't have space for single rooms there is limited space onsite to camp if you'd prefer. Please reach out to us with any other concerns!

What do I need to bring?

You'll be responsible for transportation to and from HTOEC, bringing your own bedding, any personal items or shower supplies, your bike, helmet, and any extra snacks or drinks you'd like.

What type of bike do I need?

Whatever bike you have! That being said, most of the programming and group rides we will be doing will be most fun on a gravel or MTB bike with at least 32c tires.

What's included in registration?

Two nights of lodging at HTOEC in group dorm rooms (you will be in bunk beds in rooms with 4-8 other participants). Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Daily socials & group rides and access to a variety of programming & clinics led by FTWN-B cyclists like yourself!

What happens if the weather is bad?

This event will happen regardless of the weather. We will shift programming indoors if needed.

Can I get a refund?

Tickets are refundable until July 14, 2025. Per Eventbrite's policy, ticket fees are not refundable. Any refunds sent will be for the ticket price minus fees. In the event of an 'act of God', we will pivot to a campout or alternate event, in which case you may request a partial refund.
