Overview

This practical parent session will show you how to raise children who take initiative, stay focused, and take ownership of their learning.

Every parent dreams of a child who is confident, responsible, academically motivated, and able to take initiative without constant reminders.

As we prepare for 2026, one of the most valuable skills we can nurture in our children is the ability to become self driven in life, in behaviour, and in learning.

A self driven child takes responsibility, manages emotions, solves real problems, and shows independence.
A self driven learner stays focused, completes tasks on time, asks questions, takes learning seriously, and pushes themselves to improve.

When these two strengths come together, a child becomes more organised, more confident, and more successful both inside and outside the classroom.

Many children struggle with:

  • low motivation
  • difficulty focusing
  • waiting to be pushed or reminded
  • challenges with responsibility
  • fear of failure
  • depending too much on adult supervision

These are skills that can be developed, and parents play a powerful role in guiding this process at home.

To lead this important conversation, we are honoured to welcome Mr Abraham Ogunkanmbi, a distinguished international educator with 40 years of experience across Nursery/Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary education. His rich background includes roles as an Early Childhood Educator, Principal, Montessori Director of Training, and Head of an International School. He currently serves as the CEO/Lead Consultant of Success Educational and Management Consult.

A published author and contributor to both local and international journals, he is a strong advocate for holistic early childhood education. He also serves on the boards of several international schools in Nigeria and is widely respected as a teacher-trainer, counselor, education consultant, Thinking Schools expert, and mentor. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Educational Leadership Practitioners of Nigeria (FIELPN).

In this practical parent session, we will explore:

  • how to raise children who take initiative and think independently
  • how to build strong, consistent learning habits
  • how to reduce the stress of constant reminders
  • how to help your child grow confidence in their abilities
  • how emotional intelligence supports self driven behaviour
  • simple daily routines that build responsibility and academic discipline
  • how to prepare your child for steady success in 2026

By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of how to nurture both the character and the learning habits that help children thrive academically and personally.

If your goal is to help your child become more focused, more responsible, more confident, and more motivated in the new year, this session is for you.

Let us help you raise self driven children and learners ready for success in 2026 and beyond.
