RADAЯ: Experimental Session #8 – Karen Chalco

RADAЯ: Experimental Session #8 – Karen Chalco

By Sorora e.V

Overview

Circuit-bent improvisation meets sonic drift. Karen Chalco redefines noise as resonance and vibration. Live at Bardo.

RADAЯ: Experimental Session #8 presents the radical sonic explorations of Karen Chalco, a sound improviser driven by curiosity and experimentation.

Based in Berlin, Chalco works with DIY electronic circuits, soundscape recordings, and open-source programming tools to create unpredictable sound environments. Her work unfolds in improvisational layers that explore noise not as disruption, but as vibration, persistence, and reconfiguration.

💥 For this session, she presents a new live piece composed of “fragments of random and wandering recordings modifying interstices and converging with persistent vibrations”—a fluid and shifting soundscape where noise inhabits the spaces between digression, intention, and dispersion.

Her practice embraces freedom, glitches, and the blurred edges of form, allowing sound to drift, to glitch, to settle — and to unsettle.
