Webinar Description:
Join this engaging one-hour virtual workshop designed specifically for preschool and kindergarten educators. Mindfulness Moments for Young Learners offers simple, developmentally appropriate practices that nurture emotional awareness, focus, and calm in young children. Participants will explore playful, ready-to-use activities such as Feelings Circle, Belly Buddies Breathing, and Gratitude Circle, each requiring only a few minutes a day. Through interactive demonstration and discussion, educators will learn how to seamlessly weave mindfulness into daily routines, supporting smoother transitions, stronger self-regulation, and a more connected classroom community. No prior mindfulness experience is needed; just curiosity and a willingness to play and explore. Leave with a toolkit of scripts, visuals, and confidence to bring mindful moments to life for your students.
Objectives:
The participants will be able to…
1. Define mindfulness in early childhood settings and describe its benefits for social-emotional learning, attention, and classroom climate.
2. Recognize 3–5 brief mindfulness activities (e.g., Feelings Circle, Belly Buddies Breathing, Chime Time) that promote calm focus and emotional awareness in young learners.
3. Identify mindfulness practices into daily classroom routines, such as morning meetings, transitions, and rest time, to foster consistency and predictability.
4. Describe mindful language and presence to support children’s self-regulation, empathy, and sense of safety.
5. Identify an age-appropriate mindfulness toolkit to implement immediately with minimal materials and preparation.

Her clinical approach focuses on fostering healthy communication, building insight, and enhancing effective parenting strategies. Carly practices from an integrative perspective, combining cognitive-behavioral skill-building with relational therapy techniques to support growth and healing. Before joining SelfWorks, Carly trained at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, where she conducted psychological assessments for teens, led Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups, and supported participants in the teen parenting program.
