Yes, and we welcome donations to the Center so that we can continue this type of programming

Will there be food and drink at this event?

There will be light snacks and drinks provided. We also encourage you to bring a water bottle and your favorite snacks for hiking.

Is transportation provided?

Yes! A bus will pick everyone up at the SF LGBT Center at 9:30 AM sharp and will drop everyone off back between 4:30 - 5:00 PM. Please arrive between 9:00-9:25 AM so that the bus can leave on time at 9:30AM.

What amenities are available at Big Basin Redwood State Park?

Accepted Answer

There is no food/beverage for purchase at the park.  We'll provide snacks +water and encourage folks to bring their own favorite snacks. There is no potable water due to the fires in 2020,  no flush toilets, and no cell service. There are porta-potties available at the trailhead.

Is this trip wheelchair accessible?

No - the trail at Big Basin Redwood Park  is not wheelchair accessible. Future trips may be, so please do check in.

What should I wear?

We recommend you wear shoes that are good for hiking and dress in layers, such as pants and short sleeve shirt with a jacket or long sleeves for layers. The weather changes throughout the day, and we want to ensure you are comfortable during the bus ride and while out on the trail.
