Join Queer Cookout for a joyful celebration of queer culinary talent and community! Bring your own bowl and spoon if possible, invite your queer friends, and enjoy a nourishing meal while connecting with old friends and making new ones. Together, we build joy and support local movements!
There will be a vegan and a meat option! The official menu is currently being crafted and is based on seasonal availability.
Why we do tickets how we do:
Our goal is to make queer community and good food as accessible as possible to as many folks as possible. To do this, we have a scaled ticket system to cover the costs of the event while still providing a free option. Each person costs about $10 to feed, so every ticket purchased above $10 contributes to someone else's meal! Wahoo!
What are the costs? First, we want to ensure we cover the cost of the food + the space. Then we work to ensure the chef's time is covered, and then the organizers. Finally, if there are extra funds - we're currently working with local farmers to purchase CSAs for local queer families in need.
