Overview

What is QPR? QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer – the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

QPR – Ask a question. Save a life.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.

Learning Objectives:

As a certified QPR Gatekeeper, you will learn:

  1. To recognize the warning signs of suicide
  2. To increase awareness of stigma and understand suicide as a public health issue
  3. Know how to offer hope
  4. Know how to access local and national referral resources
  5. Know how to get help and save a life
