Join us for an intermediate 4-week pottery workshop focused on creating lidded forms in a variety of styles. You’ll learn essential techniques including throwing, measuring, trimming, and glazing lidded forms.
***This class meets once a week for 4 weeks and each class is 3 hours long.***

Weekly Breakdown:
Week 1: Throwing Basics + Lidded Form Foundations
- Throwing basic vessel forms
- Demo: throwing forms designed for lids (jars, casseroles, canisters)
- Hands-on practice
Week 2: Throwing Lids + Matching Forms
- Demo: multiple lid styles (flanged, gallery, inset, cap)
- How to throw and size a lid to match your base
- Continue throwing vessel bases and begin lid work
- Individual feedback and form corrections
Week 3: Trimming + Refining Fit
- Trimming your pots and lids for a professional finish
- Adjusting fit between lids and forms
- Surface detailing and final shaping
- Discussion of glazing plans for week 4
Week 4: Glazing + Final Touches
- Glazing techniques for lidded forms
- Demo: glaze application for form and function
- Finish and decorate your work
- Wrap-up discussion + tips for continued practice
Throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to explore different lid types based on your interests. Demonstrations will be adapted to match your creative goals, making this a customized and supportive learning experience.
