Rebecca Muzzarelli is a deaf puppeteer who loves puppets and happens to be deaf. She loves performing with children while teaching them about recycling through the use of puppets. She has found her voice through the art of puppetry.
During this six week course, she will give the children an introduction to puppetry in an creative way, she wants to give them opportunities to develop creativity and to learn the history of the art of puppetry. She will help them to learn how to design and construct puppets as well as props, lighting, publicity, and programs.
The importance of recycling will be stressed by using recycled materials, such as drink bottles, bleach bottles, hula, hoops, mop, brooms, cardboard, rods, hangers, Styrofoam, etc. in this way, participants will understand how they can save the earth by reusing materials that otherwise would be thrown away using their imagination to write a unique and creative opportunity.
This is a SIX WEEK SERIES. Kids will meet EVERY TUES 6-8pm as they create the puppets, backgrounds and practice their play for a production at the end of the series.
Learning how to create puppets and perform a show is not only creative, but it’s also therapeutic
