Pumpkin Smash 2025 at Guild Row

Every November, Guild Row hosts one of the city’s most satisfying rituals: the annual Pumpkin Smash. It’s part compost drive, part block party, part collective stress relief.

Bring your pumpkins—carved, collapsing, or forgotten—and give them a second life. We’ll have stations for smashing and composting, plus loud music, baked things, drinks, and the usual dose of well-intentioned chaos.

Kids love it. Adults need it. Everyone leaves lighter.

Why We Smash

Pumpkin Smash keeps thousands of pounds of organic waste out of Chicago’s landfills. More importantly, it keeps the community together—and gives fall a better ending.
