Description

Public Square

8th Annual Public Square Event

Join Bishop Peter A. Libasci and others from around the state to learn from experts about the crisis of human trafficking.

Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery that occurs around the world and in every state, including New Hampshire.

It may take the form of sex trafficking, or traffickers may force individuals to commit labor services against their will. In all forms, human trafficking is an offense against the fundamental dignity of the human person.

Get practical ideas on what you can do to make a difference.

The Topics:
What is human trafficking?
Who is impacted by human trafficking?
What are the signs that a person is being trafficked?
What can we do as Catholics to help address human trafficking?

Jasmine Marino

Keynote Speaker:

Jasmine Marino left “the Life” 8 years ago and now is using her voice and story of survival, faith, and hope to raise awareness for women who are currently enslaved in sex trafficking situations. Ms. Marino firmly believes education about this issue can help prevent and abolish human trafficking, and she has shared her message at schools, colleges, churches, conferences, and even the United Nations. After earning an Associate Degree in Business Management from a community college, she left “the Life” and became a real estate agent. Once Ms. Marino regained some stability in her life, she began working in the field of anti-human trafficking by, among other things, serving as a mentor and group facilitator to at-risk girls and passionately advocating for women at a residential safe home. Ms. Marino currently serves as a Ministry Associate for the Abolitionist Network of the Emmanuel Gospel Center in Boston.
