Embark on a journey to unlock the secrets of public speaking in our comprehensive workshop series. These sessions are tailored to equip you with the fundamental skills needed to communicate with clarity and confidence. Led by supportive instructors, each workshop focuses on practical techniques and easy-to-follow tips to help you shine in any speaking scenario. Workshops will include the fundamentals of constructing a speech, non-verbal communication, and overcoming anxiety. In the final workshop, participants will put their news skills to the test in a safe and encouraging environment.

Attendance at all three sessions is highly recommended to get the full impact of the series.

Wed., June 12 - 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. - Session 1 - Fundamentals and structure

Tues., June 18 - 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m. - Session 2 - Apprehension relief and visual aspects of presenting

Fri., June 28 - 9 a.m.-1 p.m. - Session 3 - Giving presentations and receiving feedback *lunch will be provided


Trainers:

Casey Riesberg has a background in Communication emphasizing in organizational, health, and intercultural communication. She also has her Masters Certificate in Corporate training and a bachelor's in PR/Advertising. Her work has varied from marketing for a small Omaha-based nonprofit, training and development for an academic institution, and teaching as an instructor.


Jennifer Pool is a theatre artist, storyteller, community builder and lifelong Nebraskan. She is the founder of Goldenrod Anecdotalist Society, a community-based storytelling collective, and was part of the inaugural Nebraska Storytelling Festival. Jennifer has worked for over 20 years as a free-lance costume designer, and over 10 years as a bookseller. Jennifer has a MFA in Theatrical Design from the University of Georgia, and a MPA in nonprofit management from UNO.
