An all-levels generative virtual workshop with poet Ae Hee Lee!
One of the wonders of poetry is how it can reawaken us to the world. The familiar can be reignited with color, metamorphosed into creatures, landscapes, languages, and music that can re-astonish us into beauty. The process can also support us in our resistance against becoming desensitized to witnessing the personal and political violences that permeate our lives. In this generative poetry workshop, we will use writing prompts to look upon what we may have rendered as quotidian in our lives and make it strange again and again.
About the Instructor: Born in South Korea and raised in Peru, Ae Hee Lee is the author of ASTERISM, selected by John Murillo for the 2022 Dorset Prize, and the poetry chapbooks Bedtime || Riverbed, Dear bear, and Connotary, the last of which was selected as the winner for the 2021 Frost Place Chapbook Competition.
