PRSS: Best Practices for Ethical Decision-Making

This instructor-led, virtual course will focus on best practices for ethical-decision making in the Peer Recovery Support Specialist role. This six-hour sessions will equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills they need to navigate complex ethical dilemmas in their professional role.

Completion of this course fulfills the ethical component of recertification requirements for PRSS.

• Understand the fundamental principles of ethical decision making in the peer support role
• Analyze ethical dilemmas and explore decision-making frameworks that take into account cultural contexts and personal professional values
• Explore real-world case studies to enhance practical applcation skills
• Discuss strategies to maintain professional boundaries that protect the wellbeing of peer workers and those they support
• Review current decision-making strategies and develop and implement new models that address culture, values and context
