Event Information
About this event
We warmly invite you to the following seminar with presentations by Peter Willimott, Senior Program Officer at the WIPO Singapore Office, and Chiara Accornero, Representative of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center in Singapore.
With the increasing globalization of markets and technological developments, intellectual property (IP) is a key business asset to support growth and minimize risk to your business and brand. It will be explained how businesses can protect inventions, brands and designs in different countries around the world. Some of the specific WIPO tools that have been designed for IP protection and management will also be covered.
Parties entering into commercial licensing and technology contracts should also anticipate the possible emergence of disputes, in order to avoid expensive and time consuming court litigation. It will be explained how contracting parties may choose WIPO alternative dispute resolution (ADR) options and how WIPO ADR procedures may be tailored to the specific needs of the transaction, industry or technology concerned, to solve issues in an efficient and confidential manner that preserves the parties’ commercial interests.
