Who Should Participate?

Health educators, school counselors, nurses, and other professionals who work with youth and families. Ideal for those positioned to train staff, engage caregivers, and deliver age-appropriate prevention curricula across K–12 settings.

What qualifications do I need to attend the PROTECT Facilitator Academy?

Applicants should have experience working with youth, teaching or training, and be comfortable leading prevention education with students, staff, or caregivers. Familiarity with trauma-informed practices is recommended.

Is there an application process?

Yes. All prospective facilitators must complete an online application to ensure the Academy is the right fit. Approved applicants will receive a private registration link for their selected Academy session.

How long is the training?

The Academy is a two-day training. Sessions may run on consecutive days or within the same month, depending on the schedule. Both days are required to complete certification.

What is included in my registration fee?

Your fee includes 16 PD hours (1.6 CEUs), one-year access to PROTECT’s staff and caregiver trainings, K–12 curricula (OTIP-approved), Human Trafficking Safety Protocol templates, facilitator certification, and ongoing 3SGF support.

Do I have to complete any pre-work?

Yes. Approved participants will receive access to a pre-work module through our online platform prior to the Academy. Completing this pre-work is required to maximize your Academy experience and ensure readiness for certification.

What technology do I need to participate in the virtual Academy?

Accepted Answer

You’ll need a computer with reliable internet, a webcam, and audio capability. Sessions are interactive, so a quiet environment where you can fully engage is recommended.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Participants who complete all requirements (attendance, pre-work, and teach-backs) will receive a certificate of completion and 1.6 CEUs.

Can I transfer my registration to another date?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you’re unable to attend your registered session, please contact Arleen Marin at ArleenM@3sgf.org to transfer to another Academy date within the same calendar year.
