Event Details

Order of the Arrow (OA) Southern Region (SR) Section 8 is sponsoring the Project Z Base Trail Crew adventure from Monday, May 27 through Saturday, June 1, 2019. Project Z Base will be hosted at beautiful Z Base on Zink Scout Reservation near Tulsa, OK

Register Today! - The first 50 to register will receive a free Arrowman Conservation School Patch!

Please note: All meals are included in registration from Monday evening supper to Saturday morning breakfast (14 total). Platform wall tents will be provided for all participants. Participants will need to provide their own cot and/or sleeping pad.  Electricity is limited and C-PAP users should bring a battery system.

All fees will be collected by Section 8 at time of on-line registration. All BSA Medicals Parts A,B,&C, Swim Check Documents, and BSA Youth Protection Training Certificates will be collected upon your arrival at Z Base.

REQUIREMENTS

- Be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and an Active Member of an Order of the Arrow (OA) Lodge
- Be physically fit, able to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs. (the height and weight guidelines found on the BSA Annual Health and Medical Record should be referenced.)
- A complete physical examination & a BSA Annual Health and Medical Record form are required.
- Any participant under the age of 18 will need to have their parent or guardian accept the BSA Annual Health and Medical Record Part A Risks by confirming their understanding and acceptance of the information in this on-line registration form with their email address at the end.

BEWARE OF POTENTIAL RISKS

Parents, guardians, advisors and youth participants should be alert to the potential for injury and understand the risks highlighted in the BSA Annual Health and Medical Record Part A. The BSA, Z Base professional staff, and the volunteer staff will strive to minimize risks to participants and advisors by emphasizing proper use of tools and safety precautions. The Project Z Base staff will instruct participants regarding safety measures to be followed. Each participant is expected to follow these safety measures and to accept responsibility for their health and safety.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING OFFERED.

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings the Project Z Base Staff will provide additional conservation training. We highly encourage all participants to take advantage of these additional training opportunities.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Your BSA Annual Health and Medical Record Parts (A,B,&C), BSA Swim Check Letters, and Youth Protection Training Certificates will be collected during In-Processing upon arrival at Project Z Base.

May 31: FEAST & Celebration

June 1: Departure

 

RECREACTION

May select 2 areas (half day at each area - am/pm)

- Aquatics: Lake (Canoe, Kayak, Fishing) & Swimming Pool (splash fun)

- Shooting: Shotgun Sporting Clays

- Aerial Adventure: COPE/Climbing on new multi-tiered aerial apparatus

PROJECT Z BASE CODE OF CONDUCT

The general welfare of any group depends on the conduct of each individual member. This ensures the success of our projects and provides the maximum benefit to every participant.
AS A TRAIL CREW TREK PARTICIPANT, I UNDERSTAND THIS, SUPPORT THE REASONABLE DEMANDS OF CONDUCT EXPECTED OF ME, AND WILL:
- Live the Scout Oath and Law.
- Observe, respect, and strive to live the Outdoor Code.
- Observe the rules of the Leadership Team, my instructor, & my crew leader.
- Wear my full *BSA uniform or work clothes as required.
- Attend and participate in all functions of the program.
- Be personally responsible for damage and loss of property.
- Observe quiet hours.
- Respect all safety procedures and learn to properly use equipment.
- At all times, be considerate of participants and staff.
- Understand the purchase, possession, or consumption of alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, or illicit drugs at any time during the program will not be permitted and will result in dismissal from the program, at the expense of the participant. This standard shall apply to all participants. Compliance with Arkansas state laws & regulations will apply at all times.
- Respect the laws of the State of Oklahoma and Zink Scout Reservation rules prohibiting the use of fireworks, firearms and gambling. Infractions of these regulations will be grounds for immediate dismissal from the program at the expense of the participant.
By signing (electronically provided your email) along with my parent/guardian on the final page of this application, I acknowledge I have read and promise to abide by the code of conduct and have read and understand all the information as listed on this application as well as the risks outlined on the BSA Annual Health and Medical Record Parts A&B&C.
