Project Management for Non-Project Managers

Are you juggling multiple responsibilities and finding yourself managing projects without formal training? This practical workshop is designed for professionals who do not have “Project Manager” in their job title but still need to plan, organise, and deliver projects effectively.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

• Set clear and achievable project objectives using the SMART framework.
• Identify key stakeholders and assess their power and interest to guide engagement strategies.
• Break down projects into manageable tasks and milestones using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Create realistic project timelines and identify the Critical Path to prioritise key tasks.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and track project progress using simple, practical methods and free digital tools.
• Respond to challenges and changes using basic change control and risk management techniques.
• Understand how to formally close a project and evaluate its success.
• Recognise and compare key project management methodologies including PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall, and identify their relevance in different work contexts.

No previous project management experience is required to attend this session.

Trainer Profile:

A certified PRINCE2 project management practitioner, accredited trainer, and certified learning and development professional with over eight years of experience managing projects across telecom, education, software, retail, and consultancy sectors. He has successfully led a wide range of initiatives both as a dedicated project manager and in roles where project management was among multiple responsibilities. Passionate about making project management clear, practical, and accessible, he specialises in supporting professionals who manage projects without formal training. His workshops are engaging, supportive, and action-oriented, designed to build confidence and deliver immediate value.
