Product Costing for Engineers (and anyone else) Workshop - Virtual

Product Costing for Engineers (and anyone else) Workshop - Virtual

By UMass Lowell Francis College of Engineering
Online event

Overview

Hands-on virtual workshop introducing concepts of engineering economics around product costing.
  • Location: Virtual
  • Dates: January 9, 16, and 23, 2026 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Cost is relatively straightforward…once you understand its components. By understanding the basic building blocks of cost, you will be able to identify and more easily address areas where you or your company may be overspending. Through a progressive approach, concept introductions, and hands-on tool development, you will clearly see how changing one cost (or more) in a process affects others and what you may initially perceive as an inconsequential improvement, can have a dramatic impact on overall cost.

This workshop, which is co-hosted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell’s Francis College of Engineering and ReGen Valley Common Campus, is appropriate for engineers, future engineers, or anyone interested in how process and material decisions affect overall product cost. Skills learned in this workshop are applicable to any industry. You will learn how to effectively apply the tools developed to your organization to evaluate and measure process improvements, and increase productivity and profitability. The workshop will be held virtually over lunch on three consecutive Fridays.

ReGen Valley members will need to verify that they are employed by a ReGen Valley Consortium Partner. ReGen Valley student members will need to verify that they are students at a ReGen Valley Common Campus institution.
