Luuk Danes
For over 10 years, Luuk Danes has been helping organizations to effectively use various cryptographic solutions to encrypt data, to create digital signatures and for authentication.
With his own company Cryptography in Context, he offers advice on and support with the organizational approach, architecture and implementation choices for key management, cryptographical solutions and PKI environments. His focus is on both the needs of the business and the correct application of cryptography. He supports management and coaches the team members with the organizational and technical implementation of the chosen cryptographical solutions.In addition, Luuk shares his knowledge and experience in the 3-day course “Encryption & PKI Practitioner” at the Security Academy in The Netherlands.
Nikita Lukianets
Nikita Lukianets, a Founder of the Open Ethics initiative that fosters the inclusive dialogue between experts and citizens to design systems where humans and AI successfully work together. Nikita is also a Founder and CTO at PocketConfidant AI, a 24/7 coaching technology powered by artificial intelligence.
Previously, as a fellow with SIGNALIFE Ph.D. program in life sciences in France, Nikita worked on supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms for neuronal classification, bridging approaches in neurobiology and statistical learning.
Nikita Lukianets has more than 10 years of experience in Human-Computer Interaction and has partnered with multiple organizations to help them build human-centered interfaces. While working in Microsoft at Developer and Platform Evangelism Division, Nikita was leading a startup support program helping young technology companies to develop their products for scale.
Nikita received an MBA in innovation management from Politecnico di Milano School of Management and M.Sc. in Applied Physics from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Vlad Nekrutenko
Vlad Nekrutenko is a data privacy enthusiast and expert in the GDPR compliance. He works as a legal network manager and privacy specialist at Legal Nodes – a legal marketplace for tech businesses. Vlad also is CIPP/E. He gained experience in privacy and IT law by consulting blockchain, AI, BigData, and other IT projects across the European Union, the U.S., and Eastern European countries.
Vlad is an author of the Privacy Handbook for Startups, which gives an overview of data privacy matters in the EU, the US, and Hong Kong.
In 2019, Vlad cofounded Privacy HUB, an NGO aimed to promote the importance and raise awareness about PD among citizens of Ukraine.
Björn Dijkstra
Bjørn is an Information Security Specialist for the Dutch National Office for Identity Data. He holds a MA in political science from Leiden University, and has specialized in information risk management, privacy and ethics. His perspective is based on the primacy of the human being and a democratic open society and has formed an integrated perspective in his work.
Bjørn has consulted a wide variety of organizations ranging from a multi-national offshore company to Hospitals and Universities. He has also provided lectures on philosophy and urbanism at the Delft University of Technology and information security presentations for various organizations, and contributed to such initiatives as SHERPA, and ISAC of the Dutch National Cyber Security Center. He also enjoys practicing kickboxing and capoeira.
Silvan Jongerius [moderator]
Silvan Jongerius (CIPP/e) is the Managing Partner of TechGDPR, a consultancy for Data Protection and Privacy for technology, such as Blockchain, AI and IoT. He has been involved in data protection since 2012 and spend over 12 years in senior technology leadership and general management in private media education, and has focussed on blockchain since 2014. Silvan is a regular speaker, mentor and lecturer , as well as co-chair of the INATBA privacy working group and President and Founder of BerChain, a non-profit with the mission to connect and promote the blockchain ecosystem of Berlin.
Open Ethics Series
Open Ethics Series is the chain of educational events around impact of artificial intelligence. The first Series aims to cover the main principles emerging from the broad range of discussions on requirements for development and deployment of AI. The topics will include those that are part of the Ethics guidelines for trustworthy AI by European Commission (Privacy & data governance, Human agency & oversight, Robustness & safety, Transparency, Fairness, Societal & environmental well-being, Accountability), as well as additional topics proposed by the community.
