PRINT AND SOCIAL

Come experience making your own print. The subject of focus we will explore is the famous Singapore landmark, the iconic 'Merlion'. The one-of-a-kind statue that is instantly recognizable and holds a special place in Singaporean culture and history. Learn about its origins and create your print using trace-monotypes, relief printing with foam shapes and patterned embossments.

Ticket includes entry to workshop, artwork, Singapore snacks and beverages.


Artist Heinrich Toh's BIO

Heinrich is a printmaker and graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and the La Salle College of the Arts in Singapore. His work is in public and private collections, including the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Albrecht-Kemper Museum, Truman Medical Center, the Loews Kansas City Convention Center Hotel, the University Hospital of Cleveland, and the Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin, TX. He has exhibited extensively for the past 20 years, that include the Wing Luke Asian Museum, the Bellevue Art Museum, Albrecht-Kemper Museum, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. He has taught at the Kansas City Art Institute and led numerous workshops around the country that include the Pratt Fine Arts Center, Penland School of Crafts, the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Oklahoma Fine Art Institute at Quartz Mountain, among others.
His work explores the evolution of identity by synthesizing memories of past and present, with layered imagery and pattern.
