JOIN US FOR PRIDE FIRST SATURDAY- A very special event celebrating the power of community, arts, and connection.

On Saturday, June 7th, Collide Zine will host a special open mic for “First Saturdays” at the one and only People’s Gallery Project in Washington Square West!

Each month we are theming our mic around a different theme. This month we ask participants to bring work relating to “Pride"--celebrating LGBTQ+ voices and the queer community. This can be a poem, a song, a piece of visual art, or any creative project that resonates with this theme in your life or someone else's. Come ready to share with a supportive group of creatives who will celebrate the journey of your work without any pressure for it to be completed or polished. Open mic signups are first come, first serve. Sign up at the door when you arrive to participate, or relax and enjoy the show.

Our beautiful gallery space will feature a new wall of art by local artist _____, which will be featured through the month of June.

This event is donation-based with a minimum suggested amount of $5-$10.

This is a safe and supportive environment to enjoy yourself, connect with local artists and entrepreneurs, support makers, have fun, and just BE YOU.

What to Expect:

An interactive pop-up style art gallery in a unique studio setting

Live music

A new selection of beverages including specialty teas and NA cocktails

A polaroid photo booth

Complimentary snacks and beverages

........and more!

This is a part of Collide Zine and PGP’s new First Saturdays series, with the goal to bring consistent accessible creative events to the bustling sidewalks of Pine St and surrounding small businesses. The first Saturday of each month, we will turn our new flagship gallery space into a pop-up style art or performing arts event featuring visual arts by local People's Gallery Project artists and/or local musicians, poets, vendors, and creatives of all kinds. Imagine a Saturday evening at your favorite cafe, but surrounded by art, creativity and a TON of good energy.

RSVP here to reserve a spot today! Open mic performances start at 7pm.

We aim to partner with places that can feasibly host art on their walls for 30 days or longer, and have foot traffic space for events;receptions;open mics. We also hope that these businesses will support the event’s success with freebies like a first round on the house/ a discount on a product purchase at the event, etc.

Energy Exchange Events: We propose that Collide events are free and donation based unless otherwise agreed on, and that the cost for the venue’s rent be minimal or none. In exchange, Collide will promote the business hosting the event on Eventbrite, social media platforms, email blasts to members, and in a written shoutout in all of our printed issues for that quarter (new issue prints every 3 months)

If you are interested in partnering with us for an event at your venue, please send us an email at collidezinephilly@gmail.com.
