Class Description
Students will pick between two locket styles. Once they decide on their style, they will pick the flowers and greenery they want to use and then work on the flower design while a general introduction about the materials and set up is given.
After deciding on the design, instructor will show step by step the resin process.
For this part, students will use protective gear such as an apron and latex gloves to keep the resin from going on their clothes.
Once they’re ready to commit to the design, the flower preservation will be in 2 layers.
For the first layer residents will mix in pigments and inks and will mix using a toothpick. Once fully mixed, they’ll add the flower design on it and will use a black light to cure the resin.
Once the first layer is cured, they’ll will add one more layer of resin to finish covering the flower and then will use the blacking again to cure it and then leave to set for at least 5 minutes.
Once fully set, students are welcome to take their piece and personalize it even more with their own unique chain (not provided)
NOTE: Protective gear and supplies to be provided by instructor.
