About this event

One of our most popular offerings, based on a workshop model, in which students (grades 4-7) create their own characters and narratives and work collaboratively on stagecraft and an original script. Family and friends of participants are often amazed at what they’re able to pull off when it comes time to bring the show to life for an audience on the final day of class.

Fridays 4:00-5:30

A place for kids to shine

Founded by Matilda Manning Kunin in 1983, Young Performers Theatre is a San Francisco-based nonprofit whose mission is to provide every child in the Bay Area with access to theatre arts-based enrichment curricula. Through its Theatre in Education and outreach programs, repertory productions, classes and summer camps, YPT helps children build core social-emotional learning skills and sets the stage for success in many fields of endeavor outside of performance. Our programs are designed to cultivate a love of the arts and develop creative problem-solving abilities, teamwork, focus, empathy and self-confidence.
