Prescribed Burn Planning Workshop

By Clemson Extension Forestry & Wildlife

Overview

This workshop is for landowners with little or no experience in preparing for a prescribed fire, but want to start burning.

Landowners who are interested in using prescribed fire on their property and have little or no experience in preparing for a prescribed fire are invited to attend this training. Participants will be guided through the process of developing a burn plan and how to evaluate site conditions by experienced prescribed burning practitioners. They will then be given the opportunity to write a burn plan for a site at Camp Gravatt. Weather permitting, the workshop will include the opportunity to participate in a prescribed burn.

The workshop is limited to 25. Participants need to wear non-synthetic clothing and boots, and bring eye protection and leather gloves if possible. Lunch will be provided.

Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to people of all ages, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, political beliefs, sex, orientation, marital or family status and is an equal opportunity employer.
