About This Event

Prepping for NIL is a 60-minute live virtual session designed to help families understand and prepare for the evolving landscape of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Whether your student-athlete is in middle school or already being recruited, this session offers real-world insights, straightforward answers, and actionable next steps—all in a supportive space created specifically for families.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of the session, you’ll be able to:

• Understand what NIL is—and what it’s not
• Spot common myths and avoid costly mistakes
• Learn how NIL affects eligibility and recruitment
• Know when and how to talk to your coach or school
• Start conversations about branding and social media
• Ask smarter questions and protect what matters

Session Format

60 Minutes Total

• 45 min moderated conversation with Ivory Tabb
• 15 min audience Q&A (Question(s) can be submitted early.

Topics Include:

• What NIL actually is—and what it’s not
• Common myths + mistakes
• Timing: When is it too early (or too late) to think about NIL?
• Early branding basics (reputation, social media, identity)
• FAQs: “Do I need to hire a lawyer?” , “What’s one red flag to look for in a deal?” , “How do we talk to our child about this?”
