About this event

Attendees will learn from scientists in academia and industry how to prepare and deliver a compelling elevator pitch explaining your research. We strongly encourage attendees of this workshop to join us on October 20th at UConn in Farmington, CT for our event "Preparing and Pitching as a Scientist" with networking session and social hour. Agendas for both events are provided below.

Trainees and professionals in science and biotechnology are welcome to participate. These events are free.

“Preparing to Pitch yourself as a Scientist” on 10/13 agenda:

5:30-5:50- Introduction: What makes a good elevator pitch

5:50-6:10- Mentors introduce themselves and give their elevator pitch

6:15-6:45- Breakout rooms with mentors and attendees to craft pitches

6:45-7:00- if time permits, ask attendees to practice delivering their pitches

“Pitching Yourself as a Scientist” on 10/20 agenda:

5:00-5:45- Networking and pitch practice

5:45-6:00- Call to Order/Introduction of Groups

6:00-6:30- Elevator Pitch Session

6:30 Networking and Dinner/Drinks at Butchers and Bakers.
