Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

Prepare for a successful breastfeeding experience with our hands-on, interactive class designed for expectant parents. Whether this is your first baby or you’re looking for a refresher, this class provides practical guidance and expert tips to help you get off to the best start.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How your body makes milk and what affects milk supply
  • Proper latching techniques for comfort and effectiveness
  • Hand expression and its benefits
  • How to tell if your baby is feeding well
  • The latest recommendations for breast pumps

Our goal is to give you the confidence, knowledge, and skills you need for a smooth breastfeeding journey.

Who Should Attend:
Expectant parents in their second or third trimester.

NOTE:
If you are already registered for the Childbirth Education Bundle, this class is included in your bundle—no need to register separately.
Only one ticket per couple is needed.

Frequently asked questions

What are the parking options for the event?

Please allow extra time for parking at the Springfield campus. You may park in the Wesson Women's lot in front of the Wesson Women's entrance off of Chestnut Street. If there is no parking available in this lot, feel free to use the larger lot adjacent to the Chestnut building.

Can I update my registration information?

If you have a change in email address, insurance or other pertinent information feel free to update your registration.

What is the refund policy for the class?

Cancellations up to 7 days before the class receive a full refund, minus a processing fee. Refunds are not available after that time.

Are Parent Education classes covered by health insurance?

Please check with your insurance company to see if they reimburse for childbirth education. Please print your class receipts to submit for reimbursement. This will be provided to you once the class is completed. For Be Healthy or Ma Health, Call our office at 413-794-5515.

We provide education and support for expectant parents and families including breastfeeding resources, childbirth and breastfeeding classes, infant care and keeping baby safe classes, babysitter academy and grandparents class. We offer several groups that support new parents and families after the birth of their baby.  We also have our Baystate's Babies program which provides postpartum education and support in a “whole family” approach.
